Director – Enterprise Sustainability, AT&T

Tim Fleming

Tim Fleming is the Director of Enterprise Sustainability at AT&T. In this role, he works with business and government customers to determine how they can use technology to optimize resource use, quantifiably improve environmental performance and help them achieve their environmental goals. He combines his expertise in environmental sustainability and technologies like Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Cities to drive measurable value for customers and society. Tim is committed to the idea that technology is a key enabler of a global low carbon economy and critical for the preservation of natural resources. Previously, Tim served as a Senior Energy Manager and was part of a team responsible for reducing AT&T’s environmental impact throughout its operations in the areas of energy, greenhouse gas, water, and waste. In this role, he worked with Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) to develop the WaterMAPP toolkit designed to improve cooling tower efficiency and reduce the water consumption both at AT&T and other commercial and industrial enterprises. Tim’s work was also instrumental in developing AT&T’s first water reduction goals. Throughout his nearly 20 years at AT&T, Tim has held a wide range of positions, including roles in the Sustainability, External Affairs, Corporate Real Estate, and IT organizations. He earned his MBA from The University of Missouri - St. Louis and is a certified Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM) and Project Management Professional (PMP).
