Katrina Destree Cochran

Katrina Destrée Cochran is the Director, Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement at Alcatel-Lucent and is based in Belgium. Katrina is responsible for communicating the impact of the Company’s sustainability programs, leadership in corporate responsibility and the greening potential of ICT solutions. Katrina represents the Company in industry association and UN green ICT task forces. She is also on the Steering Committee of the UN Global Compact local network of Belgium, and the co-chair of the Global e-Sustainability Initiative’s (GeSI) Communication Working Group, which disseminates key sustainability messages for the ICT industry, including supply-chain, climate change, energy efficiency and eWaste initiatives. She is also on the communications committee of the GreenTouch™ Consortium. Prior to Alcatel-Lucent, Katrina was the Executive Director of GeSI, an international strategic partnership of the leading 31 ICT companies together with UN and NGO partners. GeSI focuses on the ICT sector’s contribution to a more sustainable environment. Katrina began her career in operations of a retail fine art gallery based in California, then managed a privatization of two printing plants in Warsaw, Poland. During graduate school, she focused her studies on global public policy networks. Following graduation, she held positions in regulatory development with Pacific Bell and MFS/WorldCom. Katrina holds a Masters of Arts degree in International Business and Economic Law from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy (jointly administered by Tufts University and Harvard University), a Bachelor of Arts degree from California Polytechnic State University. Katrina has also completed the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. She leads activities for the Fletcher Alumni Club of Belgium and continues a life-long passion in classical ballet.
