The EU Sustainable Energy Week (#EUSEW21) is a two-month-long series of activities across Europe promoting secure, clean, and efficient energy. It brings together policymakers, stakeholders and citizens to achieve climate and energy goals for the Energy Union.

Ahead of the Policy Conference taking place from 25 to 29 October 2021, under the theme ‘Towards 2030: Reshaping the European Energy System’, the DigitALL Lunch Debate will offer a voice and venue for multiple stakeholders to debate for or against the centrality of public-private dialogue and collaboration to achieve the energy transition in Europe in the 2030 era.

The latest data shows that we are not on track to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) to ensure affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all by 2030. But we want to do our part.

Join Dave Keating, Senior Writer from Energy Monitor moderating an open debate to solve the rebus of the decade “The SDG7 Dilemma: How and who can ensure reliable, sustainable and modern energy in Europe?” together with:

  • Christine Mayer, Team Leader, Sustainable Development Indicators, Eurostat, European Commission
  • Luis Neves, CEO, Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI)
  • Arvea Marieni, Head of the Energy Transition Programme, Strasbourg Policy Centre
  • Jacopo Sala, EU Climate Pact Ambassador for Italy & Director of Secretariat of the European Youth Energy Network (EYEN)

Closing remarks by Tony Jin, Huawei Chief Representative to the European Institutions “Tech4Climate: Let’s reach the EU Green Deal targets together”
