Engaging with GeSI has allowed Bakrie Telecom to have access to the experience and knowledge of other global ICT companies and organisations that are committed to sustainability. It has also allowed us to be on the forefront of the efforts to raise awareness of the contribution ICT can make to society and improve the global environment. Thanks to the experience we have earned in the area of sustainability, we have been chosen to advise others in the ASEAN region with regards to the implementation of green activities in business strategies. We have also added environmental considerations and requirements to our supplier relationships including our supplier registration forms (integrating ISO 14001 as an additional requirement) and purchase order terms and conditions (recycling, e-invoicing etc.).
