We believe that BT can be a force for ‘net good’ by providing services which help us to live within the environmental constraints of our planet. We have been reducing our impacts on climate change since the 1990s. We’ve already done a lot to reduce our carbon footprint, so our approach now requires us to be more innovative by increasing engagement with suppliers and customers to produce lower-carbon solutions.  We’re working with suppliers and partners to design products that produce less waste and are more environmentally sustainable. 

GeSI provides us with a platform to collaborate with our industry partners.  In March 2011, the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol ICT sector guidance initiative was set up to provide specific guidance for the ICT sector.  This initiative is convened through the World Resources Institute, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the Carbon Trust and GeSI.  Further information can be found here:  http://bit.ly/sActof
