GeSI participation improves collaboration between telecom operators and equipment manufacturers in the following common actions:

• To put forward positive effects of ICT in other industrial sectors,
• To monitor works on energy efficiency going on in European and International organizations,
• To issue some waste proposals:
• To share best practices in WEEE collection and treatment,
• To improve existing activities in emerging countries (or enhance the existing ones) in WEEE collection and treatment: join efforts for on the ground operational solutions (with associated KPI, trace-ability and compliancy to regulations),
• To increase policy makers and customers/citizens awareness of the e-waste problem,
• To share positions in human rights and child protection
