The third instalment in the GeSI's groundbreaking SMART series, SMARTer2030, will be officially launched on June 9 in the course of a joint event co-organized by GeSI with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

The report further explores the carbon abatement potential enabled by ICT solutions in sectors such as power, buildings, transport, and healthcare. The study extends the time horizon to 2030, and expands the scope of work to consider not only environmental benefits additional to carbon reduction, but also the positive social and economic impacts of ICT.

The launch event will take place in Bonn on 9 June on the background of the climate negotiations in the run-up to COP21. Industry leaders and policymakers will discuss the opportunities offered by ICT solution and showcase examples of successful technology solutions in a number of sectors. Registration is open.
