ETNO has been the voice of Europe’s telecommunications network operators since 1992. Its 41 members in 35 countries collectively account for a turnover of more than € 225 billion and up to one million employees.
ETNO and its member companies have a long commitment to Sustainability, testified in particular by the Association’s Sustainability Charter and the 7 sustainability reports released so far.
ETNO is also one of GeSI’s founding members and has actively participated in the Initiative’s activities since its foundation. GeSI addresses sustainability from a global perspective and represents the right forum where the ICT industry can analyse and take decisions and actions on the most relevant sustainability challenges for the sector. Moreover, both GeSI and ETNO are recognised as important partners by institutions and organisations at an international level, and joining forces means adding strength to their voices. ETNO takes advantage of GeSI’s broad outreach and of the possibility of working together with its members in identifying issues, activating synergies and finding appropriate solutions for the industry. In particular the cooperation between the ETNO Energy Task Force and the GeSI Energy Efficiency WG has allowed to address a broad range of energy related issues in an effective and efficient way.
