The World Resources Forum Association (WRFA) has elected Luis Neves, Chair of the Global eSustainability Inititiave (GeSI), as a Board member. The World Resources Forum Association is a partner organization of GeSI and provides a platform to promote innovation in resource productivity by bringing together a wide range of stakeholders including researchers, industry, policymakers, and civil society.
The WRFA organizes an annual conference as well as a number of additional events to discuss resource efficiency related topics including the circular economy, energy efficiency, and ICT solutions for sustainable lifestyles.

Luis Neves, GeSI Chairman, was pleased to accept this nomination, stating, “Sustainability in the ICT sector begins with responsible management of our natural and material resources. Through GeSI’s partnership with WRFA, we have gained appreciation for our respective endeavors to accomplish complementary objectives. It is my honor to serve at the WRFA Board and offer deeper insights on how we can collaborate further.”
Xaver Edelmann, President of the WRFA, said he was very pleased with Luis Neves' entrance to the Board, because with Luis "we will strengthen our ongoing work with the ICT industry, which has such a key role in promoting and facilitating sustainable lifestyles, to be delivered hand in hand with the business sector". Edelmann added that ICT solutions will certainly be discussed in the upcoming WRF 2014, to be held in Peru in October this year, at WRF Asia Pacific 2015, to be held in Sydney in June next year, and at the next Davos event in October 2015.
