On Monday 2 May, GeSI held an Information Session at the WSIS Forum 2016 (Geneva, 2-6 May). The session was the occasion to present a preview of the key findings of the latest GeSI work, #System Transformation - How digital solutions will drive progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
Currently, every country has an achievement gap in over 50% of the SDGs. The contribution of digital solutions will be key in achieving the Goals and related targets. Participants in the GeSI session had the opportunity to hear examples of how ICT can support and accelerate progress on the SDGs implementation, and on the GeSI commitment to make the SDGs its central framework for action up to 2030.
The full study outcome will go online on June 14. Until then, you can see a snapshot of the key findings released at the WSIS Forum here, and read a blog on the event by Malcolm Johnson, ITU's Deputy Secretary-General, here.
