The Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) and the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) are pleased to announce that GeSI’s supply chain monitoring program, E-TASC, is transitioning to RBA’s Validated Audit Program (VAP) platform!  GeSI member companies and their suppliers will have access to the VAP program, avoiding audit fatigue and duplication of efforts, while reducing costs and strengthening relationships within the Industry.

The VAP audit program is an end-to-end thorough process, focused on leveraging the integrity of audit results for all stakeholders including member companies, auditees, auditors, and program managers.  The unique features of the VAP audit process include:

• Auditor/Audit Firm Certification and Performance Review

• Documentation of Findings and Conformance Ratings

• Triangulation Required to Validate all Conclusions

• Full Scope of Facility Audited

• Minimum of 2 Auditors Onsite at All Times

• 3rd and 4th Party Oversite for Quality Assurance

• System Support/Workflow

• Shared Results to Improve Efficiency

RBA has professionally administered thousands of VAP Audits over the past several years, providing insight to areas of risk within the technology and communications sectors.  This insight and measured visibility enable both the RBA and GeSI to make a difference in Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) and supply chain management.

GeSI and the individual member companies will also use this insight to measure progress against the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a key initiative in 2018 and beyond. Providing the opportunity to communicate results and improve transparency with various stakeholders demonstrates GeSI’s commitment to supporting Members in achieving their internal program goals.

E-TASC is both a community and a technology.  E-TASC is an initiative of GeSI and is the ICT industry standard solution for improving the environmental and social practices within the supply chain.

GeSI is committed to sustainability actions and outcomes. Our members and partners use their collective knowledge and experience to identify opportunities and develop solutions for improving energy and resource efficiency, reducing carbon emissions and footprints, ensuring sustainable practices in the supply chain, encouraging access to sustainable technologies, and supporting ICT-enabled transformation across all industries and sectors around the globe.

The Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), formerly the EICC, is comprised of electronics, retail, auto, and toy companies committed to supporting the rights and wellbeing of workers and communities worldwide affected by the global electronics supply chain.

GeSI and RBA are now cooperatively positioned to support the members of each organization by expanding the penetration in the technology sector, including the use of the VAP audit program.  We look forward to continued opportunities and collaboration to meet GeSI's and RBA’s individual and shared strategies and goals.
