Information session on Scope 3 Guidance for telecommunication operators

Introduction
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the GSM Association (GSMA) and the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) are organizing an information session on Scope 3 Guidance for telecommunication operators taking place on 28 March 2023, from 0900 to 1045 CEST and 2100 to 2245 CEST. To enable the participation of experts from different time zones, two sessions are being held. The content of the two sessions will be the same.

This Guidance harmonizes methods for telecommunication operators to assess and report their scope 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, and to increase its coverage, and transparency. This guidance is intended to supplement, not supersede, existing standards.

Objective​ ​

The objective of this information session is to present the final version of the guidance and provide a brief overview of the Scope 3 categories covered in the guidance. 

The information session will gather experts from ITU-T Study Group 5, GSMA and GeSI.
