Turning 'Blah blah blah' into Climate Action
To keep the goal of 1.5C alive, the world needs to halve carbon emissions by 2030 and reach net zero emissions by 2050. Today, two-thirds of mobile operators by revenue have stepped up to rapidly reduce emissions throughout their entire value chains by 2030. But is this possible? What barriers will need to be overcome?
Alongside this, there is more recognition that mobile connectivity can help countries meet their carbon targets. Sectors such as energy, buildings, transport and manufacturing can all be made more efficient by smart connected tech.
Reviewing the key takeaways from the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, this session aims to understand how to transform the ‘blah blah blah’ of targets into tangible actions, and find ways to accelerate the transition to help governments reach their net zero targets.
