We are hiring a full time Memberships and Operations Coordinator at GeSI Secretariat

The GeSI Membership and Operations Coordinator is a full-time permanent role aimed at supporting the GeSI leadership with day-to-day administration and operation of the association. In addition, the role will require general tasks around membership and stakeholder management, supporting communication activities, and financial reporting.

 

Preferred seniority range: 1-3 years’ experience, in addition to internships.

 


Main Job Responsibilities

  •  Providing day-to-day operational, administrative, and secretarial support to the GeSI leadership
  • Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries and correspondence from GeSI Members and Partners, as well as directing Members to the correct channel for support
  • Proactively assisting GeSI leadership in growing the membership and partnership of GeSI
  • Organising meetings, taking minutes, and providing administrative and logistical support on GeSI events
  • Managing CEO diary and responding to meeting/requests, assisting CEO with daily correspondence and monitoring emails
  • Working closely with the Programmes and Communications Manager to coordinate content, social media, and other external communications 
  • Financial tasks: sending invoices, processing receipts, operational expenses and other accounting activities/reporting
  • Maintain close communication and regular reporting with GeSI Board and Members
  • Support office logistics, IT (hardware and software), communications and other tasks as necessary to ensure the GeSI office runs smoothly

Profile

 

  • Undergraduate degree in social sciences, environmental sciences, political science, or journalism;
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience, in addition to internships, preferably at an international institution, NGO, or industry association with a global reach;
  • Knowledge of sustainability issues at a global level, climate change, Sustainable Development Goals, and ICT industry highly desirable;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English, high level of French proficiency required, Dutch is a plus;
  • Fully at easy with software such as: Mailchimp, Wordpress, Microsoft Office, Sharepoint;
  • A team-oriented self-starter with excellent organisational skills, with ability to work independently and take ownership of and manage a range of tasks and activities at the same time.
     

 

 

This is a permanent role that will require a degree of flexibility due to a global membership, therefore some meetings/calls may be earlier or later than normal working hours (9h00-18h00).

 

It is possible for this role to be hybrid with prior agreement with the GeSI CEO.
