We are very pleased to announce that Tata Consultancy Services is joining the Digital with Purpose (DWP) Movement initiated by the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI).

Tata Consultancy Services is an IT service, consulting and business solutions organization that has been partnering with many of the world’s largest businesses in their transformation journeys for over 50 years. TCS offers a consulting-led, cognitive-powered, integrated portfolio of business, technology and engineering services and solutions. This is delivered through its unique Location Independent Agile™ delivery model, recognized as a benchmark of excellence in software development.

Joining the DWP Movement and partnering with GeSI is a valuable next step for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Accessing the unique DWP framework will support Tata Consultancy Services in further developing its responsible business practice. The DWP framework covers metrics in multiple areas from digital trust and responsibility to circular economy, climate change and supply chains. This will not only support them in carbon reduction but also guide their path to more responsible business activities for both themselves and their clients.

TCS is aiming to be a sustainability leader in their industry and has recently announced that they “are extremely proud to achieve carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and 2 emissions in Europe, as part of our global vision to be net-zero by 2030,” says Sapthagiri Chapalapalli, Head, TCS Europe.

Chapalapalli says that the company is also “in a unique position to use our deep technology expertise and investments in innovation to help customers and communities across the world become more sustainable. We are working closely with local communities, clients, civil society, universities and governments, in collaborative ecosystems to develop technology-led solutions for the world’s most pressing sustainability problems.”

“Companies like TCS who are joining the DWP Movement are taking a fresh and progressive approach to how they do business. They are building for the long term. Creating a purpose-driven business by confronting their carbon footprint, exploring smarter ways of achieving greater equality and diversity, as well as taking more responsibility for customer data, security and privacy,” says Luis Neves, CEO of the Global e-Sustainability initiative (GeSI) and head of Digital with Purpose.
